Functional Star Trek TOS Helm Beacon Prop
This functional replica prop of the Helm alert light, this light is made from solid clear Poly-Resin and is frosted just like the Original one on the TV show. The black box below the resin beacon contains the light source and timing circuit. When power is applied the resin beacon flashes RED and then back to frosted white. This unit also has a flash rate control that allows you to adjust the flash rate.
This black box can be mounted under your own helm station “SET” using “L” brackets not supplied, or can just be left as is to be a center piece of your own Star Trek collection.
The frosted resin beacon is not attached to the light source box so it can be glued if you wish or left detachable. The beacon is full size and made of the same materials as the ordinal one. The RED color is provided by Professional Studio Gels located inside the black box light source. This Gel will not fade in time. It is the same type that is used in all Star Trek Bridge graphics.
The light source used is not incandescent. Incandescent was used for the Original and produces much heat and will burn out in a short time. This light uses high brightness LEDs which last longer than Incandescent lights and burn cooler too.
The flashing circuit is totally quiet so you can use this item for sound productions.
I have seen just the resin beacon unfinished not frosted (So much sanding would be required) selling on eBay for more than 65.00 each. (Just the beacon not including the light box).
In this action you get the FINISHED frosted beacon with red studio gel inside box, the timed light source box with power supply and all cords. The unit plugs into your 120 AC household outlet. Runs on 120 volts ONLY.
